Two people reportedly died after an express bus crashed along the North-South Expressway near the Bukit Merah rest area.
The Star Online reported that the accident, at KM194.9, happened when the bus, heading north, tried to avoid a tyre lying in the next lane.
According to the report, the bus was carrying 38 passengers. The bus driver, Zulkifli Mohd Yusof from Kuala Lumpur, and a woman were reportedly killed in the accident.
“We are still waiting for further information at the moment but so far we know that two people have been killed in the accident. At the moment, we are still investigating and we’re waiting for the full report,” Kerian police chief Supt Omar Bakhtiar Yaacob was quoted as saying.
