Two bikers die during night out with friends

What was supposed to be a fun night out for eight bikers turned tragic when two of them were killed and the remaining six were injured when they reportedly collided into each other.

According to The New Straits Times, the incident occured along KM57 of Jalan Kuala Terengganu-Kuantan on Friday night when all eight men were riding home after a day of sightseeing in Dungun town.

“It was believed the motorcycles grazed against each other, resulting in a pileup,” district police chief Superintendent Mohd Suhaimi Ali told the daily.

Mohd Suhaimi said that the two deceased — Mohd Shahidzam Azhar, 25, and Muhammad Raif Ramli, 22 — died due to severe head and body injuries.

Their bodies were reportedly sent to the Dungun Hospital.

“The six others, aged between18 and 24, were sent to the same hospital and have been warded,” Mohd Suhaimi was further quoted as saying, adding that the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road and Transport Act 1987 for reckless driving and causing death.
