The TV presenter and producer of TV3’s Sukan Tak Sentral who mocked the father of Malaysian national sprinter, and hero, Watson Nyambek have been charged with breach of peace.

The charges were read at the Sibu magistrates court against producer Abdul Ghani Mohd Mokhtar, 41, and Azizul Ammar Abu Hassan, 50, where the judge invoked Section 504 of the Penal Code. If found guilty, the sentence carries a 2-year jail term. They’ve been released on RM3,500 bail.

You may remember the tasteless joke, when the host took an unnecessary swipe while saying the last syllable of Nyambek – his father’s first name following patronymic naming traditions – and made the sound of a goat bleating. Twice. Oh, and he also implied that the sprinter deserved to lose his national title for good measure.

You can watch it below. The only ones amused, seem to be the hosts themselves.
