Reader, is it just us, or has there been a phenomenal amount of rain falling on our shores the last week, or so?
Yesterday, several areas of Kuala Lumpur experienced flash flooding, with the sudden deluge of rain that poured from the skies at around 4pm.

Flood waters along Jalan Parlimen, in the center of the city, brought rush hour traffic to a halt, with Fire and Rescue officials asking drivers to avoid the area. Other no-go zones of gridlocked traffic among rising waters were Jalan Maharajalela (especially near the monorail station), and Jalan Pudu.

Outside of KL, nearby areas were also affected. A river near the AEON Rawang shopping complex rose by 40cm, and stopped traffic in both directions.

Another road in the Cameron Highlands, at kilometer 42 of the Simpang Pulai route, just outside the city, turned impassable after a waterfall burst through a hill and flowed without abandon onto the road. Traffic stopped cold in both directions.
Yikes. So, it’s not just us.
Stay safe, dear reader. If the water looks like it’s too high, it’s best to turn around rather than risk it. Trust us, because we’ve been there, and it’s hella expensive to fix a flooded car.
