AirAsia boss Tan Sri Tony Fernandes is grateful and he’s sent out notes to all the airline’s customers thanking them for standing by the airline in what Fernandes had called ‘his worst nightmare’.
Hours after the retrieval of doomed Indonesia AirAsia flight QZ8501’s flight data recorder, Fernandes sent emails to everyone acknowledging that ‘the past few weeks have been the most difficult weeks of my life since starting AirAsia 13 years ago’.
“I wanted to reach out and thank you for the warmth and support given to all of us. Your messages of love and encouragement strengthen our resolve to be better. We will continue to provide updates as the investigation goes on.”
The outspoken group chief executive officer stressed that the company would review and improve its products and services to give customers ‘nothing but the best’.
“Even in our toughest times, we will continue to be the world’s best and be better for you. Together with my 17,000 AirAsia Allstars, we ask that you join us in praying for the family members and loved ones of those on board QZ8501,” he wrote in the email, ending it with #togetherwestand.
Fernandes had received widespread praise for his hands-on approach in dealing with the tragedy of flight QZ8501 in which over 160 people perished.
