A couple had the shock of their lives when they found their 16-month-old toddler drowned in a pail at a house in Kuala Pilah on Monday night.
According to a news report by The New Straits Times, the toddler’s mother realised that the boy, Muhammad Fahil Finaz Nor Azuan, was not with his father and three-year-old sister.
Fahil’s father, 33-year-old Nor Azuan Azali, told the daily that his wife thought the boy was with her in their bedroom, but sensed something was wrong when she did not hear his voice.
“We later found him with his head and half his body submerged inside a water-filled bucket under the kitchen sink,” he said. “My wife and I tried to resuscitate him but failed. We then rushed him to the Tuanku Ampuan Najihah Hospital for treatment.”
However, the doctors at the hospital confirmed that their youngest child had died. The remains was brought to the forensic unit for post-mortem.
