A three-month old baby girl died at a daycare centre in Bandar Utama.
Police have seen no clear sign of abuse, but were still investigating the cause of death.
Petaling Jaya OCPD ACP Azmi Abu Kassim told The Star Online‘s Nicholas Cheng that the PDRM received an emergency call at 1.58pm yesterday. When officers arrived at the scene, the infant appeared to be unconscious.
“The baby was pronounced dead at the daycare centre. But we have yet to determine the cause of death.
“A post-mortem will be performed on Tuesday (today),” ACP Azmi said.
The child was one of 30 children being taken care of at the daycare centre, which has been operating for eight years.
Six nannies were on duty at the centre at the time of the baby’s death.
Azmi said the baby was fed milk by her mother at around 9am yesterday before being dropped off at the daycare centre in reportedly healthy condition at 9.30am.
He added that police had yet to classify the case, as the cause of death was not yet determined.
