Want to go on a long holiday but can’t afford the travel tickets? Don’t worry, some of Asia’s top destinations on the rise are pratically at your doorstep.
Travel website TripAdvisor has just released their ‘Top Destinations On The Rise – Asia’ list, and three Malaysian cities made the cut.
Kuching, Kota Kinbalu and George Town came in at the eighth, ninth and tenth spot respectively.
According to TripAdvisor, Kuching is a “fine choice for an enriching vacation that’s as packed with learning as it is leisure.” The website points to Kuching’s street food and massive Sunday market as the main draw of the city.
In choosing Kota Kinabalu, TripAdvisor wrote that the Kinabalu National Park is the must-visit spot in the city. Its wide variety of outdoor activites such as hiking to the top of Mount Kinabalu, the tallest mountain in Malaysia, as well as jungle trekking and camping at the Crocker Range National Park make Kota Kinabalu a dream come true for adventurous travelers.
As for George Town, the travel site notes that the town’s beauty and rich history keeps tourists flocking all year round. Its reputation as a food heaven helps too!
