Three killed after Perodua Myvi crashes into ditch

Three people were killed when the Perodua Myvi they were traveling in lost control and crashed into a ditch near Taiping on Wednesday.

The Star Online‘s Ivan Loh reports that the accident happened at KM230 of the North South Expressway, causing the right lane of the highway to be closed resulting in a 2km crawl.

According to the report, the car hit an opening in the road divider, causing it to overturn before catching fire. The car then crashed into the ditch.

Three female victims were flung from the car upon impact, and they reportedly died on the spot. Another female victim sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the hospital.

A Fire and Rescue Department spokesman told The Star Online that they received a call at 1.45pm and a response team rushed to the scene.

“Three people are confirmed dead on the spot while another is seriously injured,” the spokesman was quoted as saying.
