Thirsting beef and lamb lovers, put your plates down for a second, we need to tell you something.

Three, we report three, Australian beef and sheep meat suppliers have had their products suspended by Malaysia’s Department of Veterinary Services (DVS) after an audit in May of this year. Among them, according to Melbourne’s The Weekly Times, is Thomas Foods International (TFI), Australia’s largest exporter of both meats.

Gasp.

According to officials from Australia’s Department of Agriculture, DVS had encountered several issues with the three companies; however, once they have been cleared, trade should resume.

The official would not comment specifically on who was banned, saying that matter was “commercially sensitive,” and that DVS was working directly with the affected establishments to rectify any issues.

TFI commented that they were still unclear what had brought on the suspension of their goods, but they expect to return to Malaysian shelves next month after a re-audit.

Nothing like making a mistake, having no idea what is was, but then being pretty sure you won’t do it again. Hmmm.

Malaysia is Australia’s tenth biggest market for beef exports. That’s a lot of rendang guys.
