Three people have been arrested for the theft of at least 30 cars in and around Gombak.
The Star Online reports that the two men and a woman — aged between 27 and 47 — were caught in Rawang on Feb 13.
Gombak district police chief ACP Ali Ahmad told the portal that this group usually looked for older vehicles parked in open areas.
“They would target vehicles parked by the roadside, public parking lots or residential areas. Our investigations revealed that it takes less than five minutes for the trio to steal a car,” he was quoted as saying.
He said these stolen cars would be dismantled and their parts stolen, adding that police were still hunting for other members of the syndicate.
