Over the past five years, The Movemint‘s Think You Got Skillz event series has been the trial by fire for all aspiring Malaysian hip-hop exponents, be it on the mic, with the loop sequencer, on the turntables or even on the checkered mat. The TYGS Battle Series returns this June 1st, and it’s all going down at Maju Junction Mall in downtown KL.
In conjunction with the umbrella Malaysia Got Hip Hop event happening on the same day, TYGS Battle Series will be going whole hog with their head-to-head competitions: there will be battle categories for emcees, DJs, beatmakers, beatboxers and b-boys happening from 5pm to 9pm.
Along with partners The Judgement Day and BBoyWorld Malaysia, up and coming hip-hop artists (and maybe even a few of the established ones) will have to earn their bragging rights. Even if you’re not down to scrap, there’s no better place to check out the new talent KL’s hip-hop community has been fostering.
