There have been parties moving among groups of flood victims in Kelantan falsely claiming to be Federal Government agents entrusted with distributing compassionate aid, the National Security Council revealed today.
The NSC’s secretary, Mohamed Thajudeen Abdul Wahab said the council would directly distribute the emergency aid, valued at RM500, directly to the registered households that qualify.
“The parties concerned probably have an ulterior motive; the NSC has never appointed any agent to manage the payment of the compassionate aid,” he told Bernama yesterday.
He reminded that the Federal Government had allocated RM500 million to help victims in flood-affected areas pick up the pieces and restart their lives.
