Seputeh MP Teresa Kok of the DAP almost ended up the victim of a snatch theft outside her family home in Taman Rainbow, Jalan Ipoh on Sunday evening.
The incident occured when two men on a motorcycle approached her from behind and tried to snatch a gold chain she was wearing while walking with two of her nieces, aged five and 11, along Jalan Selama at around 7pm.
CCTV footage from the nearby area showed the motorcyclists approaching Kok from behind, and Kok falling in the ensuing struggle.
“I picked myself up and along with my nieces ran behind some cars parked along the road.
“I was screaming for help as the pillion rider was chasing us. He ran away when a car stopped to help us,” she said.
She lodged a report at the Sentul police station yesterday afternoon.
