Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Tangku Adnan Tengku Mansor, probably burned by the online skewering he received over his handling of Kuala Lumpur’s vagrant community and the NGOs who operate the inner city soup kitchens feeding them, made a request to Malaysia’s media practitioners … for the sake of city dwellers.
According to The Rakyat Post, at a Ramadhan event with 350 media practitioners last night, Tengku Adnan in a written address asked journalists to put out positive write-ups supporting all the programmes organised by the Federal Territories Ministry for the benefit of city dwellers under its jurisdiction.
In the speech, read out to the audience by Federal Territories Ministry secretary-general Datuk Seri Adnan Mohd Ikhsan, Tengku Adnan said the positive spin on the ministry’s initiatives would ensure that the people would be aware and understand whatever the ministry would be trying to implement.
“The mass media is the important element in the dissemination of information and news concerning the ministry and other agencies, besides being the source of reference for latest news on the federal territories,” he said.
Tengku Adnan added that his ministry welcomed all suggestions and feedback from the media for the improvement of the ministry and its related agencies.
