Two teenage boys drowned after they slipped and fell into a monsoon drain at Jalan Sungai Panjang in Selangor.
The two, identified as Mohamad Riduan Jamhari and Mohamad Salman Rahmat, both 14, were reportedly playing near the area prior to the incident.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (operations) Mohd Sani Harul told The New Straits Times that they received a distress call at 5.30pm on Thursday. Fve firemen were deployed to the scene.
“The first victim was found at 5.50pm while the second victim was found three minutes later,” he was quoted as saying, adding that both teenagers were pronounced dead at the scene.
