A teenage construction worker who was cleaning a cement mixer was crushed to death when he fell inside the machine.
According to The New Straits Times, M. Arun Kumar was reportedly in the midst of cleaning the machine at a construction site in Jasin when his colleague turned on the machine.
The victim lost his balance and fell into the machine.
Fire and Rescue Department Senior Fire Officer, K. Karupanan told the daily that the department received a distress call at 11.44am and five firemen rushed to the scene.
“We took half an hour to retrieve his body, which was trapped in between the blades,” he was quoted as saying.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by a medical assisant from the Jasin Hospital.
