This teenager can solve a Rubik’s Cube faster than you can tie your shoelaces

This boy must be an alien.

A student from a high school in Johor broke the national record for solving a Rubik’s Cube with a time of 7.08 seconds (!!).

According to a report by the China Press, as translated by The Star Online, 18-year-old Ivan Lew Yi Wen from Foon Yew High School set the stunning time at the recent Johor Open 2016.

Ivan told the Chinese daily that he only started learning the techniques some five years ago, and he would spend up to five hours a day just to perfect his Rubik’s solving skills.

Well, all the hard work seems to have paid off as according to the official World Cube Association website (yes, there is such a thing), Ivan is currently ranked number one in Malaysia for the 5×5 and 7×7 Cube categories.

Oh, in case you were wondering, the world record time for solving a Rubik’s Cube in an official championship belongs to one Lucas Etter from the USA, who set a ‘oh-my-god-can-you-believe-this-sh*t’ time of 4.90 seconds last year.
