The man at the center of a viral video showing what appears to be very inappropriate contact between him and a young girl is now in police remand.

Arriving in court, the suspect sported a partially shaved head, stiches, and a swollen right eye – what some suspect is retribution for the alleged despicable act. He will be held in police remand for seven days while officers investigate.

The forty-something-year-old suspects was accompanied to the Sungai Petani court by two relatives, a young adult gentleman, and woman, in her late 30s.

Speaking to reporters outside, the woman told media that the suspect was unmarried, and from Penang. She added he often traveled to Sungai Petani for work. The young man, who identified himself as the suspect’s nephew, said he was unaware of what his uncle’s line of work was.

Police report that the suspect appeared in the Kuala Muda police station yesterday afternoon, circa 3pm, with his face beaten, bloody, and swollen. He seemed dazed, and was sent to hospital for treatment. It is unknown who is responsible for the suspect’s injuries.

Over the weekend, the shocking video clip of the uncensored face of a young girl sitting on the lap of the gentleman made its rounds on the internet. He can be seen in the clip inappropriately touching the girl underneath her dress while to two were at a funfair.

Much of the fury surrounded the content of the video, as much as the intent of the uploaders and sharers, who did little to disguise the victim’s identity, or file a police report concerning the incident.

The man returned to the fair the following day to look for the girl; however, by then the mother was made aware of his actions and confronted him. The suspect apologized, and left the fair.

The young girl was later examined at a local hospital, and doctors report that she is in good physical health. She has been released into the custody of her mother, with doctors warning the woman to avoid predators. A report regarding the events will also be sent to the Women, Family and Community Development Ministry.

Good luck in prison, suspect. They don’t take too kind to alleged kiddie fiddlers on the inside, and we reckon you may come out with a lot more than a bad haircut and black-eye.
