Police have apprehended a 46-year-old man in connection with the hit-and-run accident that occurred yesterday involving Malaysia’s Paralympics cycling team.
He was taken into police custody yesterday evening, and a urine test searching for drugs was done at Kuala Selangor district headquarters.
The team’s coach, Johari Nayan had been conduction road training with the team whent eh accident occurred at Km 12.6 of the Latar Highway yesterday.
One of the cyclists, Nur Syafiq Suhaimy suffered a broken fibula, and is now out of the running for competition in the upcoming ASEAN Para Games.
Three other team members, and the coach, were taken to Sungai Buloh Hospital for treatment.
