Superbiker burns to death in horrific Karak highway crash

You might have seen this in the news yesterday, but in case you didn’t a gruesome accident occurred along the Karak Highway where two super bikers died.

Two others were left with serious injuries in the 11.20am incident at KM25 of the highway. All four, according to the New Straits Times, were part of a convoy of super bikes heading into Kuala Lumpur.

One of them was found burnt to death after he was pinned beneath a motorcycle which caught fire and another – found unconscious – died a short while later. The NST reports that the deceased have been identified as Zali Khalid, 40, and Md Nizam Hanapiah, 57.

The report said one of the bikers had crashed into a car and three others who had been tailgating the first, went down after that.

A witness quoted in the report – Mohd Fauzi Hassan, 34, – said at least five other superbikes were part of the convoy.

“Few others (bikers) in the convoy managed to avoid (the crash) because they were some distance away from the three,” he was quoted in the NST.

He also said that other motorists had stepped out of their vehicles to help the biker trapped under the pile of bikes but could not get him out on time as the machines caught fire.
