A 20-year-old pregnant student died after allegedly consuming unknown medicine for abortion.
According to a report by China Press, the girl had earlier complained of stomach ache at her home on Wednesday and her father had rushed her to a hospital.
However, she was reportedly pronounced dead shortly after arrival, and her body has been sent to the Selayang Hospital mortuary for a post-mortem.
The Chinese daily reported that the girl’s family did not know about her relationship with her boyfriend as she was said to have kept it a secret.
She reportedly bought the medicine herself before consuming it to abort the child.
The police are now waiting for the post-mortem report to get a clearer picture of the medicine she had taken, and they are also on the lookout for the boyfriend to help facilitate investigation.
