Have you gotten yourself a blanket and a cup of hot chocolate? ‘Cos this story will make you feel all warm and squishy inside.
Once upon a time (actually, it happened on Monday), residents of a housing area in Sungai Bedaun, Labuan began hearing the sad barks of a distressed puppy sausage coming from a monsoon drain.
The residents did not know what to do as the drain was two meters deep and filled with rubbish, so they decided to not do anything.
When several animal lovers couldn’t bear to hear the sad cries of the puppy sausage any longer, they decided to take action.
As it was too dangerous to climb down the drain, the residents decided to do the next best thing: call the Fire and Rescue Department for help.
Eight firemen, led by an officer named Jerry John, responded to the distress call.
Like a superhero, Officer Jerry jumped into the two-meter deep monsoon drain, which was reportedly filled with trash-saturated water, to rescue the terrified two-month-old puppy sausage.
“My men got drenched when they jumped into the clogged drain in the rain to rescue it.
“After confirming with nearby residents that it did not belong to anyone, we took it back to our station,” Jerry was quoted by China Press as saying.

Once the pooch arrived at the fire station, a female firefighter identified as Jennifer Sopendek instantly fell in love with it.
She was so enamoured with it, she reportedly took it upon herself to clean and feed the puppy sausage.
At the end of the day, Jennifer reportedly realised that she could not part with the cute little puppy sausage, so she decided to take it home and provide it with a ‘forever home’.
She named it Saviour.
The end.
