Stages one, three and four of rationing exercises currently underway in the Klang Valley, Putrajaya and Selangor and affecting 6.7 million users is expected to end on April 30.
Corporate communications and public affairs assistant general manager for Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Syabas) Priscilla Alfred said the cessation of water rationing would, however, depend on the decision o the Selangor state government and the National Water Services Commission (SPAN).
“The implementation of the first, third and fourth stage of water rationing is still on as planned and decided by the state government (until April 30),” she said in a statement yesterday, according to Bernama.
This follows Selangot Menteri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim’s statement last week that the state government cannot yet afford to stop water rationing exercises as they water levels in dams supplying Selangor users were still perilously low.
