A Malaysian university has devised a way to battle the dark forces of witchcraft, creating a sorcery-proof Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) after two years of intensive research.
The study by Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP), Bernama reports, was done using a grant of RM189,000 from the Education Ministry as part of its Knowledge Transfer Programme.
The UMP’s Committee for Advanced Studies in Witchcraft Law — yes, now you know — had reportedly studied this field since February 2013, getting input from Islamic medicine practitioners, Islamic scholars, judges and psychiatrists.
“From the study findings, we have formulated provisions on evidence, proving of case, as well as the SOP. Now, we are just waiting for any states to make the first move to introduce the law. So far, Brunei has showed keen interest on the findings and has asked for it to be implemented in the country,” committee chairman Dr. Mahyuddin Ismail was quoted as saying.
He also said that several roadshows have been held in Sabah and Sarawak last year and these would soon head to east coast states before covering the rest of the country.
Hide those broomsticks.
