Police have arrested a Special Branch policeman in connection to the murder of his colleague who was found dead with two gunshot wounds to the head in Federal Hill on Tuesday.
The 33-year old suspect surrendered at the Jalan Travers police station at 7pm on Tuseday night.
Police have not ruled out that the slaying of Lance Corporal T. Thivakaran, 37, of Chemor, Perak, was motivated by revenge.
The victim had received a gunshot wound to the face and right eye. Investigations revealed the assault was carried out at close range.
Thivakaran was unarmed when he was shot by the assailant.
Lance Corporal Thivakaran joined the PDRM in 1997, and was a bachelor. He resided in Taman Kinrara, Puchong.
Kuala Lumpur Police Chief Datuk Mohmad Salleh said the police would apply for a seven-day remand order to hold the suspect and to facilitate investigations.
