Son buries father in grave along with RM30,000 in cash inside glass-topped coffin

A dutiful son gave his deceased father a final send-off with enough dosh to pay Charon the toll on the boat along the river Styx (shout out to Greek mythology – Zeus, Athena, Hades – we love all of you).

The Selangor-area man filled his father’s coffin with RM30,000 (US$7,630) in cold hard cash.

Two images from the January 16 funeral have since gone viral on social media, with stacks of RM50 notes covering the dead man’s body in the coffin. There were also flowers, which no longer seem that impressive.

The funeral was held in the southern part of Selangor, near Kuala Lumpur. However, the location of the cemetery is under wraps, for fear of grave theft.

Buried bodies, buried treasure. Here’s to hoping RM30,000 is enough to cover the afterlife.
