Cheras: not just the land of KL’s biggest pasar malam (night market), good Chinese food and the other IKEA; it’s also the spiritual home of bad-a** gangsters you don’t want to mess with.
Two would-be snatch thieves found this out the hard way, after they were stopped cold in their tracks by a man who crashed his car into the duo as they fled on motorcycle.
Having just snatched the bag from a teenage girl on Jalan Kuari on Sunday morning at 9:30am, two men, aged 18 and 23, were spotted by a motorist. Taking swift action, he quickly drove his car into the pair, threw them off their bikes, broke each of the assailants’ right legs and recovered the handbag.
Cheras district police chief Assistant Commissioner Chong Kok Sin told reporters both were being treated at Ampang hospital, and were being detained while charges are being investigated.
Snatch thieves, you’ve been warned: don’t mess with Cheras, kids. Cheras don’t play.
