A sixth person has filed a police report accusing a celebrity Islamic evangelist of sexual assault.

Four days after police arrested Da’i Syed, whose real name is Syed Shah Iqmal Syed Mohammad Shaiful Jamalullail, Petaling Jaya chief Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal told the press today that the latest complaint alleged that Syed had on Oct. 22 raped the accuser at his Damansara Perdana home after dinner.

The report was filed by a 22-year-old school teacher, who was later traumatized by the incident, according to police.

“He sent the victim home and threatened her to keep the incident quiet,” Nik said at today’s briefing. He also said that the victim was allegedly coerced into being sexually abused.

Syed, 25, was arrested Friday and was taken to the Shah Alam Court Complex where the police were granted a remand order. Police have confirmed that they are investigating Syed for sexual assault including rape.

Several accusers came forward after a Twitter user outed him last week for allegedly raping her friend and for behaving inappropriately towards a few others. A day later, Syed went to the police to complain that the accusations were ruining his reputation.

His estranged father Seif Jamalullail wrote online yesterday urging friends to pray for his son, days after calling on women to be careful around his son and to file police reports against him.

“I hope my brothers and sisters in Islam can recite the Al-Fatihah verse for my son Iqmal (Syed) and his victims, to strengthen their faith as they are being tested right now,” he wrote, referring to a popular Islamic verse from the Koran. “Whether he is wrong or right, God will decide.”

Syed has been promoting Islam ever since he appeared in Nusantara Preachers, a reality show about Muslim preachers, four years ago. He also sings and regularly creates content on social media.

He is managed by Universal Music, who declined to give further comments about Syed when Coconuts reached out last week.
