Six-meter python slithers into Malacca school

Imagine you’re 10 years old and you are playing tag with your friends in school right before class. You turn the corner and you bump into this slithery monster.

Absolutely terrifying, isn’t it?

A six-meter python (!!) managed to slither its way into the compound of a primary school in Malacca on Tuesday morning.

According to The New Straits Times, several firemen were called in to capture the reptile found inside the school compound of SJK(C) Bukit Beruang.

The python was reportedly spotted behind the school, with a huge bulge in its stomach. The snake is believed to have just swallowed an animal (or a student. Gasp!).

Ayer Keroh Fire and Rescue operation officer Dzulkarnain Abd Halim told the daily that the department was alerted at 8.19am and six firemen were dispatched to the school.

Dzulkarnain said the firemen released the snake at a nearby bush, away from the public.

Of course, this encounter pales in comparison to the eight meter, 250kg reticulated python — believed to be the world’s longest snake — caught in Penang earlier this year.
