Six members of a family killed in horrific car crash in Terengganu

What was supposed to be a happy family outing turned tragic when six members of a family were killed in a horrific car accident on Sunday.

According to The Star Online, the accident reportedly happened at the 288th kilometre stretch of the East Coast Expressway at around 6.10pm.

The police told the news portal that the group of ten were travelling to Kuala Terengganu in an MPV driven by 52-year-old Ahmad Nasal Abd Rahman after reportedly attending a wedding in Felda Jengka in Pahang.

One of the vehicle’s tyres reportedly blew up, causing Ahmad Nasal to lose control of the vehicle.

The MPV then reportedly rammed into a road divider before slamming into the pillar of an overhead bridge.

An eyewitness told the The Star Online that she saw the vehicle spinning at least three times before ramming the pillar and catching fire.

She also reportedly saw some of the victims being thrown out of the vehicle.

Ahmad Nasal’s 56-year-old wife Pauziyah Awang, his 11-year-old daughter Quratulnisa and his nine-year-old son Ahmad Nijat were reportedly killed in the accident.

Also killed were his elder brother 63-year-old Ahmad Razi, his 42-year-old sister-in-law Mahani Ngah and Ahmad Razi’s seven-year-old granddaughter Sofea Adriana Shahruddin.

Meanwhile, Ahmad Nasal, who reportedly suffered minor injuries, was sent to the Kemaman Hospital together with his three other children – Quratul Ain, 14, Ahmad Shakir, 12, and Ahmad Mukriz, three – who were badly injured.
