Six KLIA customs officials busted in drug smuggling ‘secret society.’ Yes, that’s what they’re calling gangs now

Six Customs Department officers based at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) have been nabbed over the last 48-hours for their involvement in a smuggling ring that saw drugs being brought into the country, and the officials turning a blind-eye.

The Star writes that police allege that the officials were part of a “secret society” established to bring in narcotics to Malaysia. “Secret society?” Is that what we’re calling gangs now?

Officers have confirmed their arrest, added that the officers received kickbacks from “secret societies” (look, I’m just going to call them gangs, OK?), and in turn allowed raw materials for drug making, as well as drugs themselves, to enter the country.

Customs director-general Datuk Seri T. Subromaniam has said that any abuse of power by his personnel will feel the full wrath of the law.

Expect customs to make you but your bag in that giant scanner, y’all.
