Sipitang MP Datuk Sapawi Ahmad escaped with minor injuries after the vehicle he was in crashed head on with another vehicle along the Sipitang-Beaufort road on Sunday.
The Star Online reported that Sapawi, who is also the Yayasan Sabah director, was on his way back to Kota Kinabalu after attending a function when the driver of the other vehicle lost control of his car and crashed into Sapawi’s Toyota Land Cruiser.
Beaufort district police chief Deputy Supt Azmir Abdul Razak said Sapawi, who was riding shotgun, was warded at the Beaufort Hospital for chest pains while his driver Abdul Madi Awangku, suffered serious leg injuries. The driver of the other vehicle, a Toyota Hilux, also suffered serious leg injuries.
