Harris Baba, a Singaporean singer based in Malaysia, has vowed to sue the Louis Vuitton shop in the up-market Gardens shopping mall, after one of its lighting fixtures fell on his baby.
Astro Awani reported earlier this week that the singer took to Instagram to claim the shop’s very hot ceiling light-cover caused “superficial second-degree burns” on his nine-month-old daughter’s face and hands. He added that the scars would take “months to heal.”
Harris is best known in his home country as being in the final 40 (not a thing) of singing competition program The Final One in 2013. While he’s found little success at home, across the Causeway he’s gained popularity not only as a singer, but also as an actor in two local television dramas – Alien Planet Cinta and Cinta Viral.
He added in a separate Instagram post that taking legal action was not about money, but rather to ensure that the shop steps up its safety and takes responsibility for its negligence. As a father, he told his followers: “I can’t bear to see my baby girl in such a situation. How do you expect me to forgive and forget so easily?”
He has already filed a police reports, and hired a “really good lawyer” to take legal action against LV.
We wish your daughter a speedy recover Harris.
