Singaporean tourist reported missing in Pulau Tioman

A 73-year-old Singaporean tourist has been reported missing since Thursday in Kampung Paya, Pulau Tioman.

Bernama reports that the man, Sinar Widjoyo Tugi, had come to the island for a quick getaway with his family and was last seen at a resort there.

Rompin police chief DSP Muhammad Aidil Roneh Abdullah told the news agency that the family had lodged a missing persons report at the Mersing police station.

“Police and Fire and Rescue Personnel have mounted a search operation for him but he is yet to be found,” Muhammad Aidil was quoted as saying.

Meanwhile, Pahang Fire and Rescue public relations officers Anuar Hassan told Bernama that the personnel involved in the search included members of MUST (Multi-Skilled Team) and STORM (Special Tactical Operation Rescue Malaysia).
