Things took a tumble at Pavilion KL this Christmas, after a hanging decorative Christmas tree decided to take an unscheduled nosedive onto a Singaporean tourist’s head.

Julius Lee, 44, was snapping a festive family pic with his wife and kiddo near the merry-go-round when the tree came crashing down like a disgruntled Grinch.

Luckily, the little one was spared thanks to Mom’s eagle-eyed reflexes.

“My husband was standing outside the merry-go-round to take our picture when suddenly, a Christmas tree fell on him,” recounted wife Aileen Tan. “It happened so fast. Thankfully, my child was with me. The Christmas tree would’ve hit her if she was in the stroller.”

Fortunately, Julius emerged with just a bump on his head. The mall’s medical team whisked him to the clinic pronto, and Pavilion KL issued a speedy apology.

“Our medical and safety team promptly responded, accompanying the shopper to the nearest clinic for immediate medical attention,” they said. “The shopper had a minor graze and appreciated the prompt action from the management.”

Falling decorations aside, Pavilion KL assured everyone they’re taking extra precautions to make sure all shoppers have a merry and mishap-free holiday season.
