Silver screen icon Aziz Sattar passes away at 89

Screen legend Datuk Abdul Aziz Sattar died of a heart attack at 2am this morning. He was 89 years old. 

Early on Sunday night, Aziz was taken to the KPJ Medical Centre in Kajang after sufffering a heart attack, and was moved to the coronary care unit (CCU). However, he was reported to have been in stable condition.

His passing was announced on social media through the Twitter account of one of his grandchildren, Abu Ubaidah A. Ishak at 2.15am:

Aziz was best known for the Bujang Lapok series of comedy films, which he carried alongside the late S Shamsudin and Tan Sri P Ramlee. He had acted in more than 50 movies over the course of his career, spanning the black and white era of Jalan Ampas Studios in Singapore to the modern age of Malaysian cinema.
