Shots were fired by police in Taman Tun Dr Ismail early this morning, after the driver of a car refused to stop at a road block and led cops on a chase that ended in discharged firearms.

Petaling Jaya police told The Malay Mail that a patrol car tailed the suspect, and was able to hone in on their vehicle at the Damansara-Puchong Expressway. The suspect drove against traffic on the LDP, towards Puchong before crashing out in a blaze of glory on the shoulder.

Police report that the man tried to flee on foot, mounting the divider at the junction of Jalan SS 2/75, and it was then that he was fired upon.

He was hit in the back, and taken to Universiti Malaya Medical Center for treatment.

The suspect and his car had been linked to ongoing home invasion investigations in the area.

There you have, if you’ve ever fantasized what it would be like to give chase, this is how it will end: arrested, after getting shot in the back on your way to Puchong.
