Shocking discovery of FoodPanda waste dumped in Gombak, Kuala Lumpur jungle goes viral

Food delivery app FoodPanda has found itself at the center of yet another controversy this fine, rainy day, after a video of a heap of their rubbish strewn across pristine Malaysian forest was filmed and shared by netizen Andy Hickson.

Angered by his discovery, he uploaded the clip yesterday afternoon, along with a simple statement: “The jungle is not a dumping ground you ignorant ar*%holes.”

The video went viral in less than 24 hours, with many left appalled by the scenes of a mountain of plastic containers, bags, and many, many FoodPanda-emblazoned driver delivery boxes, sitting incongruously in the middle of some of Mother Nature’s finest land. Hickson narrated that he was on a casual Sunday jungle trek when he made the discovery.

In the comments section of the post, Hickson wrote that he made the discovery in the Gombak area of Kuala Lumpur, near the Orang Asli Hospital along Jalan Gombak.

Many have applauded his efforts to expose the illegal dumping, while others have given up on humanity altogether, writing that “where there are people, there is trash.”

Hickson defiantly replied: Yes, but this was not dumped by the folks living here. As long-time Gombak residents ourselves, we’d second that statement.

We have reached out to both FoodPanda, and to Mr. Hickson for further comment, and will keep you posted.
