In a deliberate attempt to cash in on the tragic events unfloding from the disappearance of Malaysian Airlines MH370, the domain www.MH370.com was purchased after the flight’s disappearance, and has been put up for auction on Ebay.
The web domain appears to have been purchased for resale purposes only after the disappearance of the aircraft on Saturday morning. On Ebay, the domain was going for GBP2,500 (RM13,600) from a starting bid of GBP250 (RM1,360). The splash page of the domain itself originally featured an image of an MAS Boeing 777-200 and the words “Flight MH370 Crush”, but it seems the site has been purchased and the words and images have been pulled down. The domain is no longer listed on Ebay for sale.
