You shall not pass: Cops accused of victim indifference, city police chief refutes claims

A 41-year-old woman’s emotional message of law enforcement’s indifference went viral last night, with thousands watching the victim detail how after being followed by a group of men in a BMW, she called 999 (emergency), and drove to the nearest police station. She told netizens that the car followed her there.

Once outside the Alam Damai, Cheras station, she began to honk her horn, hoping to get the attention of officers inside. Instead, no one did anything, leaving her terrified that the three suspects in BMW could harm her, or her young son, who was also in the car at the time.

Upon spotting the BMW, police were finally coaxed out of the station, and asked the what the issue was. The suspects then claimed that the woman had nearly hit their car, so they decided that the right this to do was to trail and terrify her.

Although police told them they had violated the law, they simply asked the suspects to leave without charge, and the woman became distraught over the situation.

It was then that she posted her emotional clip, in two parts, and asked netizens to take the clip viral – wondering just what a citizen had to do in order feel that they were protected by law enforcement.

Police late last night refuted the sensational claims, saying in a press conference to the media, that the victim was allowed into the station after police became aware of the situation.

Apparently, no one gave them the message from 999.

City police chief Datuk Seri Mazlan Lazim also said that police followed standard operating procedures, and that for safety reasons, citizens are blocked from entering the compound until after their reason is given.

You know – because of the Islamic State. (Ed: Yes, this was the reason given). Apparently, it’s their modus operandi to use fake-emergency situations to seize power in a local Cheras cop-shop.

Mazlan clarified that the police were doing their jobs, and that the woman’s claims were categorically untrue. However, he did add that they needed to investigate the matter further.

The victim lodged a police report, and the three suspects, all 18, have since been detained while police investigate.

Cool, so – come to the police station, but only if you’re ready to ring the bell and explain that you’re terrified for your life. Wait for them to tell the suspects what they’re doing is illegal, but then let them go after. Got it.
