Several motorists lucky to be alive after lorry tire detaches and crashes down motorway at high speed

A wayward tire careened into two cars along a Kluang, Johor motorway and almost killed three motorcyclists last week.

Video footage of the incident has since gone viral, chalking up nearly 1.5 million views on Facebook since it was posted Saturday.

The dashcam of user Ah Boon captured the moment that the detached lorry tire collided with his car.

To call it terrifying does little justice to the sudden appearance of the potentially deadly vehicle part: it nearly crashes into the front windscreen of the vehicle, and sends it crashing into a nearby ditch.

Thankfully, the driver avoided colliding with any other cars.

Boon wrote: “Four months, and bye bye car already.” Sorry, buddy. We hope insurance covers that for you.

The car then went on to hit another vehicle, with both the driver and passenger escaping by the skin of their teeth, and miraculously avoided serious injuries. A photo posted by witness Deyke Hanz shows that the wheel crashed through the front windscreen and lodged itself in the backseat, narrowly missing those who were sat in front.

Gulp.
