Seven foreigners were detained by local police after a man was found dead in a car boot in Jalan Tugu.

Dang Wangi police chief Noor Dellhan Yahaya said they nabbed five men and two women, aged 20 to 26, on suspicion of murder after his team was informed at 6:40 am about the deceased.

“While investigating at the scene, police found a local man, aged 41, in the boot of a car and checks revealed that the man was dead.

“At about 12.45pm, police detained five foreigners comprising four men and a woman, aged 20 to 24, to assist in the investigation,” he said in a statement yesterday.

Two more foreign nationals, a man and a woman, aged 26 and 22, were detained after questioning.

The motive and cause of the killing however is still under investigation. The police will seek a remand order tomorrow to detain the suspects.
