Seremban woman assaulted for refusing to remarry ex-husband

A woman in Sikamat, near Seremban, was brutally asssaulted last night for refusing to remarry her ex-husband.

The incident, which took place at 8.30pm last night, occured as the 30-something victim was at home, at which point she was visited by her ex-husband, in his 40s. 

A source told Harian Metro‘s Mohd Helmi Irwadi Mohd Nor that the victim repeatedly declined her ex-husband’s entreaties that they remarry. 

The victim was then kicked in the neck, and punched twice on the cheek, causing her to fall to the floor. 

The suspect then fled the house, leaving the victim with bruises and a swollen neck and face. 

The victim was taken to the Tuanku Jaafar Hospital in Seremban for treatment, and lodged a police report at the Sikamat police station. 

The case is being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code, for assault.
