Is there such a thing as bad publicity? Yes, there is. Especially if you’ve just served your customer a cockroach-stuffed roti canai.
The New Straits Times‘s Teoh Pei Ying reports that a mamak restaurant in Seremban’s Kemayan Square has been ordered to shut down operations temporarily after a diner discovered a cockroach in her roti canai (Oh, gross. Ewww. We just can’t).
A Facebook post about the diner’s unsavoury experience made its rounds, the NST reported, and soon, the Negri Sembilan Health Department along with Seremban city council (MPS) went into action.
“Our checks showed that there are cockroaches in the restaurant. The restaurant has been ordered to close for 14 days to rectify the situation,” state health director Dr Abdul Rahim Abdullah was quoted as saying.
Dr Abdul Rahim added that the hygiene level at the restaurant had dropped drastically from an 80 percent score in February to 52.5 percent now.
