A python measuring an estimated 12 feet was found inside the hollow of a tree at a Telekom Malaysia telecommunication transmission station in Malacca on Tuesday.
Security guard Bell Hobri Mohamed, 40, had found it slithering past him, heading back into its hideout, just after swallowing a kitten.
How did he know what the python just feasted on?
“I was shocked. The snake was huge and I could see part of its body bulging. I suspect it must have eaten a stray kitten which usually lingers about here. “The black stray kitten which I sometimes fed and play with, is now nowhere to be seen,” he told the New Straits Times.
He immediately contacted the Civil Defence Department and the reptile was caught in just over an hour.
“Based on our observation, we confirm that the snake had just eaten a cat. We have yet to confirm the gender, size and weight of the snake but it is believed to be about 12 feet (3.7-metres) and weighing 20 kg,” State Civil Defence Department director Effendy Ali was quoted as saying.
