Tunnelling work being conducted under busy Jalan Imbi close to Berjaya Times Square caused a section of the road to collapse at 10.40am this morning, leaving a sinkhole just metres away from KL Monorail support pillars.
The sinkhole also damaged a water supply pipeline.
No casualties were reported, but KL Monorail operations were put on hold pending an assessment by the Fire and Rescue Department on the impact of the collapse on the integrity of the nearby support pillars.
Police have closed the roads at the intersection and are now diverting traffic, reports The Sun Daily.
