Second body found in search for three friends who went missing while fishing

A second body has been recovered in the on-going search for three friends that went fishing over the Monday public holiday in Sarawak, and were subsequently never heard from again.

Farouk Arina Ahmad Sabri, a 29-year-old technician with Telekom Malaysia, was found late last night.

His body was found 450 meters away from where villagers discovered 30-year-old Yeu Chee Tiong’s body yesterday morning at Sungai Labi-labi in Lawas, Sarawak.

A police report regarding the missing trio was filed after family members grew worried than none of the men had returned home by 6pm Monday, and alerted authorities.

Maritime officials, along with Sarawak Fire and Rescue, will continue the search for the third man, Mohd Amirul Bakar, 26, who worked for the Customs Department.

All three friends had set off in the early hours of Monday morning in an orange-yellow boat that has yet to be recovered, and were last heard from shortly after starting their fishing expedition.
