Blame it on El Nino, human-caused global climate change, or the Flying Spaghetti Monster – the fact remains that there’s a whole lot of weird weather going around the planet. Shah Alam becomes the latest to get a taste of strange today, when it was hit by a completely unexpected hailstorm.
Malaysians rushed out (as far as there was overhead cover) with their phone cameras at the ready, because this is how we deal with things that distress us now.
Berita Harian reports that its staff in The New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd’s printing plant near Bukit Jelutong were also alarmed at the hailstones suddenly pounding on their roof.
“I saw a few staffers collecting hailstones because they didn’t want to miss out on a rare natural phenomenon like this,” said one.
Uh. You do realise those stones are going to melt in about five minutes, right?
