Member of Parliament for Miri, Dr Michael Teo Yu Keng of PKR was assaulted outside his place of work this morning by a man wielding a baseball bat.
At around 8.30am, Dr Teo was walking to the clinic where he works from a nearby parking lot when he was attacked by a solitary assailant.
Witnesses told The Star Online‘s Stephen Then that the assailant alighted from a car wearing a motorcycle helmet when Teo was walking towards his clinic, attacked him with the bat, and sped off.
Dr Teo sustained mild injuries to his shoulders, and was sent to the Miri General Hospital for outpatient treatment.
Police have been notified of the incident, but a formal report has yet to be lodged.
